Three replica tools from Otzi the Iceman's toolkit. Otzi's dagger, Scraper and Burin reproduced to match the original tools found with him in the ice.

Otzi’s dagger is the only fully preserved dagger from the Neolithic Age, and this recreation matches it's details. Otzi’s 13 cm dagger has a flint blade and an ash wood handle. The blade was forced into the wooden handle and bound with animal sinew and a string was attached to the end of the handle. In this set, I reproduced the dagger with the same processes and materials, with the exception my animal sinew is synthetic and I use a local variety of Flint.

Otzi was also found with some smaller tools, a hide scraper for processing animals and a burin for engraving or hole punching. My reproductions match the original archeological drawings of these tools, the scraper is a long thin flake worked bifacially, and the burin is a small square flake with the burin spall removed at one corner creating the engraving point.

"Ötzi, also called The Iceman is the natural mummy of a man who lived between 3350 and 3105 BC. Ötzi's remains were discovered on 19 September 1991, in the Ötztal Alps (hence the nickname "Ötzi", German: [œtsi]) at the Austria–Italy border. He is Europe's oldest known natural human mummy.

Because of the presence of an arrowhead embedded in his left shoulder and various other wounds, researchers believe that Ötzi was killed by another person. The nature of his life and the circumstances of his death are the subject of much investigation and speculation."
